Convert an integer between number bases

Help & FAQs
Choose both bases and enter an integer. Large values keep every digit.
How to convert a number
- Choose source and destination bases from 2 to 36.
- Enter the integer using the source base’s digits, then convert.
- Copy the exact destination value or download the actual conversion report.
Exact integers with explicit bases
BigInt arithmetic preserves integers beyond JavaScript’s floating-point safe range. Leading zeroes, a leading plus and negative zero are normalized in the result; letters use uppercase. Digits are interpreted literally in the selected base. This does not encode text, convert files, interpret fractions or apply two’s complement.
Common questions
Can it convert large IDs without rounding?
Yes, within the published digit and output limits. Integer arithmetic is exact and never passes the value through a floating-point Number.
Does 0xFF work as hexadecimal input?
Choose base 16 and enter FF. Prefixes are not auto-detected; 0xFF is invalid in base 16. In base 36, letters such as x are ordinary digits.
What happens to a negative binary value?
The sign is preserved, for example decimal −10 becomes -1010. This is a signed mathematical integer, not a fixed-width two’s-complement bit pattern.
