Help & FAQs
Choose, drop or paste an image and read its QR code without uploading it. Decoded content appears as selectable text.
How to use this tool
- Choose one static image, drop it into the tool, or paste an image.
- Read the QR code and inspect the decoded text.
- Copy the text, or explicitly open a valid HTTP/HTTPS URL after checking it.
Image quality and limits
The tool reads one QR code per image. Camera scanning, multiple-code detection and other barcode types are not supported. JPEG, PNG and WebP are checked by their bytes, then decoded with their original orientation.
Images are limited to 15MB, 16MP and 8192px per side. Scanning samples up to 4MP and 2048px per side; tiny codes in a large image can be missed. Keep the code clear with its surrounding margin.
Cancel is checked around each bounded scan and asynchronous step. A single synchronous scan cannot be interrupted in its middle. Nothing is opened automatically.
Common questions
Can I read several codes in one image?
This version returns a single code. Crop or separate the codes into individual images if needed.
Will decoded links open automatically?
No. Only valid HTTP or HTTPS URLs offer a separate open action. Other content, including scripts and non-web schemes, remains text.
Why was no code found?
Blurring, missing quiet space, a very small code or difficult contrast can prevent reading. Use a clearer image or crop closer while keeping the border.
